Rukkit and robot to collaborate on Bangkok FabCafe live graffiti display

Leading Thai artist Rukkit Kuanhawate is to collaborate with an ABB robot in a live display of graffiti art at the FabCafe in Bangkok on 21st February. The event will redefine the relationship between art and technology in a new form of creative partnership. More details are on the FabCafe Facebook page at www.facebook.com/events/459517094220752/
Rukkit Kuanhawate’s career has encompassed commercial projects for Nike and Quiksilver, experimental design and street art on the walls of Bangkok. Animals often form the subject of his work. "Bangkok is a city full of concrete buildings so my animal pieces on the street return a feeling of nature to the urban jungle,” he explained.
Rukkit’s work combines traditional Thai elements with a unique modern style. "As a designer and artist, I am always trying to develop and expand my style and techniques,” he said. "Working with the robot is just another concept that I am exploring.”
The collaboration is also a new departure for the event’s sponsors, ABB Robots and Delcam Thailand. ABB Robots programmed with Delcam’s PowerMILL Robot software are usually used for a range of manufacturing applications, including trimming large components such as automotive panels or replacing repetitive manual operations like polishing metal parts.
